Lunar New Year Spectacular
The dragon within me reminds me to
Be unapologetic. Be fierce. Stand up and fight for humanity. To overcome my fears and channel my fires into something that moves me; something i am passionate about, something I’ve had to fight to believe in for myself.
Creating safety and permission for play and pleasure.
To be blasted open, drop the masks and to actually feel.
To drop into a deeper vibration and get a heart full transmission of what it means to be real.
The dragon in me gets a thrill out of enrolling others into this shared vision; celebrating embodiment, sensuality, expression, vulnerability and authentic movement. Intersecting healing with performance art with conscious night life.
Providing spaces for Asians to be seen as the superheroes and superstars that they are.
To be paid and recognized for our talents and to believe in our worth and that we are supported.
To celebrate our decision to pursue our alternative path.
And although we aren’t doctors saving lives with a scalpel and knife, we are healers saving lives with our dance, song, words, and our light.
We respect our ancestors for getting us this far.
We celebrate our lineage for encoding us with our values and gifts: To be witnessed as we authentically are and to pack a full house to celebrate our culture means we are doing it. Healing past and future generations before us, we are proud to be connecting the pieces and gathering our tribe, strengthening in numbers to cocreate and share vibration.
We are here to be embodied frequencies of the divine flowing through us. We are here to break down the walls and the masks of separation, undoing thousands of years of cultural repression and ancestral patterns of trauma and not perfect enough.
We are here. We are Asian. We are queer. We are non-binary. We are artists.
We are SensAsian.

..what i had thought was just a lunar new year party i wanted to throw turned into an epic movement//a creative collective/deepened friendships/collaborasians/asian pride which serves the collective at large
accessing this power within me that had ignited my yin and yang energy into creation allowed me to see how badly i care about the representation of asian voices and why the fuck it matters
honoring our ancestors that have worked so hard so that we can feel liberated in America and have the space to creatively express our identity on our own unique terms
knowing that they would be proud if they saw us that epic night, fully embodied, lights on us shining, as we were witnessed by a crowd of 80 folks who've paid good money to support and celebrate our culture, who honor our value and were moved to tears
there was someone who actually said "i've never been so proud to be asian..."
...that pretty much sums up SensAsian Kick Off Lunar New Year Spectacular
I am so so so proud to be curating more deeply embodied drops of vibration for that sentiment to continue to rise.
Because when our voices are heard and we are inspired by each other to grow and evolve and be authentically expressed, the world as a collective heals.
We break free from our cultural repression and our toxic competitive and scarcity narratives into true friendship, fulfillment and prosperity.
Everyone wins. Everyone is a captive audience. Everyone is open for connection without judgement.
There is more love in the air.
There is less separation, less avoidance, less mindless consumption.

Some textures of the evening those who are curious
Sensual. Embodied. Expressive. Explosive. Liberating. Healing.
There was group facilitated singing, taiko drumming, hip hop fusion dancing, erotic dragon improvisational movement, a drag performance with spoken word poetry!
There was 2 hours of ecstatic dance with wormhole high vibe live DJ sets
There was tea ceremony station, calligraphy manifestation station, live hand poked tattoos, chill out cuddle space room.
It was an epic event with predominantly asian folx, nonbinary and queer. We occupied 65% of the space.
Not bad Oakland!!!
Here are pictures to get the transmission.
stay tuned. For more to come…
